PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES OF CLINICAL
INFORMATICS CONSULTANTS:
Clinical
Informatics Consultants:
The Clinical Informatics Consultant works under the supervision
of the Director of Information Systems. The Clinical Informatics
Consultant is responsible for leading the planning, development,
implementation, and maintenance of clinical information systems.
The Clinical Informatics Consultant will actively participate
in the change management process and work collaboratively with
others to identify opportunities for work process improvement
in conjunction with clinical IT systems. The Clinical Informatics
Consultant will use their clinical expertise and informatics knowledge
in this position to help to ensure that information technology
is consistent with professional standards of clinical practice.
The Clinical Informatics Consultant performs other duties as assigned.
The Clinical Informatics Consultant requires a BSN or a Masters
degree in Clinical Informatics; Clinical Informatics Consultants
should have five years experience in a hospital-based Clinical
practice. Clinical Informatics Consultants should have experience
with the implementation and support of clinical IT projects preferred.
Clinical Informatics Consultants should have excellent written
and verbal skills. Clinical Informatics Consultants should have
excellent personal computing skills in word processing, spreadsheets,
presentation software, and project management software.
Clinical
Informatics Consultants:
Clinical Informatics Consultants will be responsible for health
care clinical application systems. Clinical Informatics Consultants
will serve as a resource and liaison between Clinical Management
and Information System Department. Clinical Informatics Consultants
will participate in the analysis, modification, training and
problem resolution for new clinical applications systems. Clinical
Informatics Consultants will participate in the planning and
coordination of clinical information system projects. Clinical
Informatics Consultants will be involved in the planing for
systems selections, implementation, and systems integrations
training and support. Clinical Informatics Consultants must demonstrate
strong leadership skills with direct interface with clinical
departments, applications and service vendors for additional
IT resources. Clinical Informatics Consultants requirements:
Clinical License, Bachelor's degree in Clinical with a Computer
Science degree is beneficial. Minimum of 1-2 experience in Informatics
Systems with hospital experience required.
